Drivers should expect longer travel times, especially on sections where there are works.
From May 5 2025, every day between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., the road to Vršič will be closed due to works. Between 5 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., there will be alternating one-way traffic, with traffic lights.
On the A2 motorway, through the Karavanke tunnel, traffic will flow alternately in one direction, with a wait in front of the tunnel:
- on Wednesday and Thursday nights, May 13/14 and 14/15 between 8p.m. and 5a.m.,
- Wednesday, June 10 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Maximum width up to 3.75m.
Between the Malence and Šmarje - Sap junction towards Novo mesto, the motorway A2 will be closed (due to works in the tunnels) during the night, between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., on the night of Thursday, Friday and Saturday (May 12, 13, 14, 15, 16). Detour via the Ljubljana South connector, along the Ljubljana – Škofljica – Šmarje - Sap regional road and via the Šmarje - Sap connector to the motorway.
The A1 motorway between Arja vas and Šempeter will be closed in both directions on Friday, May 9, between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m..
A complete closure between Vransko and Blagovica towards Ljubljana will be from Saturday, May 10 at 9 p.m., to Sunday, May 11 at 6 a.m. There will be a complete closure between Blagovica and Vransko towards Maribor from Sunday, May 11 at 9 p.m., until Monday, May 12 at 5 a.m.
